So each month, the Large Association of Movie Blogs does a poll to select a “Movie of the Month” for members to take a look at. For the month of July, there are two movies in the polling currently that I wanted to write about. They include “Drop Dead Gorgeous” and “Chronicle.”

Here we are. “Avengers: Endgame” is out and it’s truly the end of an era. It’s the same in real life, with many actor contracts reaching their end. As a result, new characters have been introduced recently, as the Marvel universe is scheduled to continue.
With that in mind, here’s my guess on who will make up the Marvel Cinematic Universe going forward. Also, this is only covering film. While the MCU films and TV shows have had connections, they usually seem pretty loose.

The Fight of the Century and one of the most anticipated sequels of that time period came out during the same weekend in 2015. Unfortunately, neither lived up to the hype.
Despite that outcome, though, it was a remarkable weekend I look back fondly on. For me it marked a sign of a comeback.
Back in 2012, the “Avengers” saga kicked off with the first team up movie, which just so happened to coincide with the end of my academic career.
Outside of Rocky Balboa and Anakin Skywalker from “Star Wars,” few characters have had as much screentime to grow and change as Tony Stark.
Of course there’s the obvious point of how Stark, played throughout the series by Robert Downey Jr., went from being a smart but rather selfish businessman to being a person who helps protect the world. however, the journey the character takes and the lessons learned are very layered and interesting to look at.
Another award season has come and gone, with several movies now nominated for the biggest honor in Hollywood. Five of those movies are documentary features and this year, I managed to see all of the nominees.
With my major disappointment that “Won’t You Be My Neighbor” (sort of) behind me, here’s my take on the documentaries nominated for an Oscar.
Award season spans over several months, with film festivals, the Golden Globes, the guild awards and other ceremonies taking place. All of it leads to one night, Oscar Sunday.
On Feb. 24, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will honor the best that the film industry had to offer last year, whether they be from Hollywood or indie corners. Of all the categories the Academy hands out gold trophies for, though, there is one that stands above the rest.

Over the course of a thrilling (?) 13-3 victory in the Super Bowl by the New England Patriots over the Los Angeles Rams, movie studios took time during the commercial breaks to push upcoming features. In between action on the field, previews for several films were broadcast over the airwaves.
Since I’ve been reviewing movies for a decade, I decided this year to take a look back at some of my favorite horror movies since 2008. So far, I’ve already taken a look at movies through 2012, so here’s the next few through 2014.

The big “one-oh.”
I turned 30-years-old in May and started reviewing movies in September 2008. That’s a third of my life, and over that time I’ve reviewed more than 600 movies, some more memorable than others.
It’s been a journey that has involved changing websites. I actually wrote my first reviews on MySpace (yes, seriously), and after that site screwing up and losing an entire review I wrote, I decided to make a new web-page. My reviews were first hosted on the site Webs.com.
