A new “Batman” film and other pictures in development under the Warner Bros. umbrella are being pushed back because of the coronavirus.
According to Variety, WB has altered its plans for “The Batman,” a prequel film to “The Sopranos” and a picture titled “Many Saints of Newark.” Most notable is “The Batman,” which stars Robert Pattinson and was set to hit theaters June 25, 2021.
However, work on “The Batman” has been halted because of COVID-19. As a result, the Dark Knight’s latest adventure is being pushed to Oct. 1, 2021.
“The Many Saints of Newark,” meanwhile, is being shifted from Sept. 25, of this year to March 12 of 2021.
Variety reports that WB has also moved “The Flash” from July to June of 2022, while “Shazam 2” is being pushed to November of 2022, rather than April.
Other movies shifting around include an Elvis Presley film with Tom Hanks and Austin Butler going from October to November of 2021, while a sports drama titled King Richard with Will Smith will be moved from this year to November 2021.
However, Variety reports that other WB flicks, such as “Tenet” and “Wonder Woman 84” are staying with their respective release dates of July 17 and Aug. 14.
As theaters remain closed because of the pandemic, there are films released a few months ago in theaters just now hitting home streaming to watch. Here’s what’s scheduled for this week:
