“Jack the Giant Slayer” is another retelling of classic fairytales, a genre which has picked up steam the last few years.

In this adaption, Jack (Hoult) ends up getting some beans through a series of events.

What’s different in this version is that an evil aid to the King, Roderick (Tucci), wants the beans because they lead to the beanstalk which has access to the giant’s kingdom in the sky. Roderick has a plan to use the giants to take over the kingdom, however, before he can thrust his plan in to motion, Jack gets a hold of the beans.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey review

The return of the franchise was like re-visiting an old friend.

“The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” is a prequel story to the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy that came out a few years ago, all based on the books written by J.R.R. Tolkien. In this film, the story surrounds Bilbo Baggins (Freeman), the uncle of the LOTR protagonist Frodo, who gets a visit from the wizard Gandalf the Grey (McKellen). Gandalf informs Bilbo about an adventure he and a group of dwarves are going to attempt and asks him to be a member of the company.

Bilbo is at first reluctant to join in however the call of adventure brings him out of there and he joins with the dwarves and Gandalf. The leader of the group is Thorin (Armitage), a dwarf king who is trying to retake his home and reclaim his birth right. Through the adventure, Bilbo begins to earn more trust from the group.

Wrath of the Titans review

How does Sam Worthington keep getting more bland with each movie?

“Wrath of the Titans” is the follow-up to the 2010 film “Clash of the Titans.” In this installment, we find our protagonist Perseus (Worthington), the demigod son of Zeus (Neeson) trying to live a normal life as a fisherman. However Zeus informs Perseus that the Gods are losing their power and need to re seal the titans, especially Zeus’ father Chronos to stop the end of the world.

Perseus declines and Zeus tries to do it with just the help of Posiden and his other son Ares, however Ares teams up with Hades (Fiennes) and defeats Posiden and capture Zeus. Because of this, the only hope left for the world is Perseus, and he must team up with the Queen of Greece Andromeda (Pike) and Posiden’s demigod son Agenor (Ramirez).

Immortals review

Immortals is the latest film set in the wonderful world of Ancient Greece. The plot follows a young warrior named Theseus (Cavill) who was taught how to fight by Zeus (Evans), although he was hiding as a human at the time. At the start of the film things seem to be going well for Theseus, however his world is thrown upside down as his mother is killed by King Hyperion (Rourke).

Theseus decides to go after King Hyperion and bring him down, to do this he must get the legendary Epirus Bow. Along the way, Theseus is joined by a bandit named Starvos (Dorff) and an oracle named Phaedra (Pinto).

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 review

The final adventure picks up immediately after The Deathly Hallows Part 1, jumping right into a phase of what to do next. The film starts with our trio of protagonists regrouping at Ron’s brother’s house and decide to ask the goblin who was captured in Part 1 to break into Gringotts to find another Horcrux.

After doing so the group returns to Hogwarts, where they are met by Neville (Lewis), and the rest of the students. Harry soon confronts Snape in front of the school with The Order of the Phoenix which leads the students and teachers of Hogwarts to make a final stand against Voldemort and his army.
